Errors and Solutions

Hi, I'm Santa's Techno Elf!  I am truly sorry you are having problems sending your email to Santa.  I promise we will do everything we can to help you.

Santa Claus gets over 1 million emails a year at emailSanta.com.  Almost all kids' emails and Santa's replies get through with no problem.  However, there are problems from time to time.  Some of the problems we hear about and their solutions appear below.  If you keep having problems or your problem is not here, then go to this webpage to send Santa your letter.

The Error:  You cannot complete your letter to Santa because ads keep getting in the way.

The Problem:  When you try to fill out the form, some parts of the form are covered by an ad and you cannot click inside the field.

The Solution:  The elves are very sorry about this and are working on a solution.  In the meantime, go to this webpage to send Santa your letter.

The Error:  A pop-up window keeps coming up that says: "Make sure to enter your age as a number (e.g. 10) instead of as a word (e.g. ten)"

The Problem:  You change your age to a number but you keep getting this message when you try to send your letter to Santa.  The problem is that the error message is "stuck" in your browser.  It thinks you haven't fixed the problem.

The Solution:  Close your browser (including any other browsers/windows/tabs you may have open), re-start it and then send your letter again.  If you have already written a fairly long letter to Santa, you may want to copy & paste what you've typed into some other software (e.g. Notepad, Word, etc.). That way you can just copy & paste it back into the new letter to Santa instead of re-typing it again.

The Error:  A pop-up window says: "You wouldn't be fibbing to Santa about the name of your city now would you?"

The Problem:  You may get this message if you type in more than just the name of your city.  You will get this message if you type "myCityname, myStatename" or something similar (e.g. "New York, New York") instead of just "myCity" (e.g. "New York").

The Solution:  Type in the name of your city only!  Do not include any other information like state, province, county, country.

The Error:  The page is showing the wrong State/Province/County/Country information.  I can't click on the correct information.

The Problem:  The elves use special geo-tracking software to know where visitors to the site are coming from.  (It's the same stuff we use for the Naughty & Nice List and to track Santa Christmas Eve 😉).  Sometimes it gets confused.

The Solution:  If this happens, please send Santa's Techno Elf an email with all the details.  PLEASE include any error messages!

The Error:  Some of the pictures are not appearing (e.g. stamps or treats for Santa) on the page.  Where did they go?  I am trying to send my letter to Santa from school.

The Problem:  The images are being blocked by your network's Internet filter system.

The Solution:  Contact the person who takes care of your school's computers.  They will be able to change the settings to allow the images to appear.  If they cannot, they will know the person who can.  We promise that the images are safe for kids of all ages.👌

The Error:  I cannot get my letter to Santa to send.  Nothing happens when I click on "Send Santa Claus my letter!".

The Problem:  Unknown.  It is possible that the web page did not load properly.  It is NOT your fault.  Santa still wants to get your letter and write back to you!

The Solution:  The best thing is to try again.  Close your browser (including any other browsers/windows/tabs you may have open), re-start it and then send your letter again.  If you have already written a fairly long letter to Santa, you may want to copy & paste what you've typed into some other software (e.g. Notepad, Word, etc.). That way you can just copy & paste it back into the new letter to Santa instead of re-typing it again.

The Error:  A pop-up window says that Santa is still reading my letter but nothing happens.

The Problem:  This pop-up window message appears if the "Send Santa Claus my letter!" button gets clicked more than once (usually by accident).

The Solution:  Close the pop-up window and wait.  If Santa does not reply in 3 or 4 minutes then Santa's computer, Hiccup, got confused.  The best thing is to try again.  Close your browser (including any other browsers/windows/tabs you may have open), re-start it and then send your letter again.  If you have already written a fairly long letter to Santa, you may want to copy & paste what you've typed into some other software (e.g. Notepad, Word, etc.).  That way you can just copy & paste it back into the new letter to Santa instead of re-typing it all again.

The Error:  My letter to Santa starts to disappear (the screen gets "fuzzy").  I hear some sounds but Santa's reply does not appear.  The screen stays fuzzy or freezes.

The Problem:  You are using an old browser.

The Solution:  Please update your browser.

The Error:  I sent my letter to Santa some time ago but he has not replied yet.  When will he reply?

The Problem:  Santa replies to your letters within a minute.  His reply will appear right on your computer screen where you wrote your letter to him.  If it takes longer than that for Santa to reply, then something has gone wrong.  Please know that Santa did get your letter.  Your Christmas wishes have gone into his Wishes Book.  But, his reply back to you got stuck.  (Sometimes a candy cane gets stuck in one of the computers 😲).

The Solution:  The best thing is to try again later.

The Error:  I already sent my letter to Santa and he wrote back.  Now I want to see my letter again but I can't!

The Problem:  There is too much magic in Santa's letters.  You cannot bookmark them and come back to them later.  We are sorry but that letter from Santa is gone.

The Solution:  The best thing is to send another letter to Santa!  He loves getting your letters and you can send him as many as you would like!

My problem/error isn't here or the Solution did not fix the problem.  What do I do?

Generally, the best thing is to try again later.  Close your browser and turn your computer off.  Re-start your computer and then send your letter again from email_santa.asp.  If you have already written a fairly long letter to Santa, you may want to copy & paste what you've typed into some other software (e.g. Notepad, Word, etc.).  That way you can just copy & paste it back into the new letter to Santa instead of re-typing it again.

If you are still having problems sending your letter to Santa, then please send Santa's TechKnow Elf an email.  PLEASE include any error messages!

IMPORTANT:  If you are using any email/spam filters, white lists etc., make sure you set them to allow email from emailSanta.com.  Otherwise you won't see our reply and we won't be able to help you get your letter to Santa!  ☹️

You may also be able to send your letter to Santa from this page.  It has less magic in it but it will get your letter to Santa!
